Work was to start today on a £3.2 million project to transform Aberdeen’s Broad Street into a pedestrian-priority area.
The scheme is aimed at creating an area capable of staging events throughout the year.
Broad Street will be closed to all traffic from Upperkirkgate to Queen Street.
The work is expected to last until October.
Broad Street from Union Street will remain open to allow access to Queen Street while the public will continue to have access to Marischal College.
Updates will be given as work progresses to the public and council staff for access to all buildings on Queen Street.
The design includes a water feature.
