A SECTION of Aberdeen’s long-awaited bypass is continuing to take shape as huge beams are shifted into place.
The beams have been delivered to the location of the new South Kingswells Junction on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
Used to construct a new bridge, the finished structure will be situated over a roundabout on the A944.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said the aim was to minimise disruption to motorists as the work was carried out.
He said: “These beams will be now be lifted into place to form the new bridge over the roundabout on the A944.”
The spokesman added that construction on the northern end of the roundabout was expected to start at the weekend.
He said: “This work was to be undertaken to the side of the existing A944 and therefore disruption to the road users kept to a minimum.”
