Staff at a North-east brewery are set to be recognised with a new qualification.
Ellon-based BrewDog has passed the first stage of the Cicerone Certification Programme meaning all 700 of its employees will achieve a beer server qualification.
The independent programme is an industry standard for those with knowledge and skills in beer sales and service. The firm is planning to help up to 200 members of staff get to the second level of the qualification.
James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog, said: “Our goal has always been to make others as passionate about great beer as we are.
“We’ve invested in developing the most knowledgeable staff ever assembled by a brewery or retail business in Europe.
“It’s been a labour of love that will particularly pay great dividends through the awesome experiences customers can expect when they interact with our world-class bar teams.
“The Certified Beer Server qualification sets a very high baseline level of beer knowledge across the board.”
