A North-east craft brewery has announced an extension to its crowdfunding investment programme after phenomenal demand.
The latest round of BrewDog’s Equity for Punks initiative was launched in October, with the hope of raising £10 million in 90 days.
The company, which has breweries in Ellon and Columbus, Ohio, saw 24,000 investors get involved – raising £11.3m so far.
After the unexpected demand, the company confirmed that the crowdfunder will now remain open until October 15 this year.
James Watt, BrewDog co-founder, said: “The continued demand for Equity for Punks demonstrates the passion people share for our mission, our values and our beer.
“It’s insane to see more than 20,000 people buy a piece of our business, and with interest still proving higher than we anticipated, we have decided to extend the opportunity to invest in our company until October.
“Our success over the past decade is down to our engaged, passionate community of evangelistic Equity Punks.”
