A north-east man has been banned from the road after refusing to provide breath samples to police.
Paul Matheson, 36, who has a previous conviction for drink-driving, pled guilty to the offence, which happened on December 10.
Fiscal depute Lynzi Souter said police smelled alcohol on him but at the station he “refused” to provide samples.
Defence agent Graeme Murray said: “When he was confronted with providing a sample he was panicking as he believed he was going to lose his job.”
Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill disqualified Matheson, of Scotsmill Crescent, Blackburn, from the road for 29 months and fined him £640.
