A COURAGEOUS mum who fought cancer has been delivered a devastating blow as the disease has returned.
Pamela Soutter was diagnosed with breast cancer, aged 30, in January 2013.
The mum-of-two went through six cycles of chemotherapy and eventually had both breasts removed in October that year.
But Pamela received heartbreaking news in February this year when scans showed the cancer had returned – this time in her lungs – and she has had to undergo radiotherapy after it also spread to her spine.
However, full of positivity, Pamela doesn’t want to let the disease hold her back from living her life.
She said: “I have the most loving husband, two gorgeous young boys and I just want to live my life to the full.
“I don’t want pity. Pity may be kind but it achieves nothing. I’m treatable but no longer curable.”
Pamela is now helping with a new campaign Feel this Moment – which aims to get women to become more aware of their bodies so they notice any changes, with the hope cancer can be detected earlier.
The campaign has been launched alongside a Twitter tag #checkyourselfie.
