Boy, 15, charged after alleged break-ins at Aberdeen businesses

The Bobbin on King Street, Aberdeen.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with alleged break-ins and attempted break-ins at businesses in Aberdeen.

An appeal for information was released last year after a number of premises were targeted in the city on October 5 last year including:

• Murdos Bar
• Nigg Bay Golf Club, where a four-figure sum of cash was reported stolen
• The Bobbin pub
• Goals Soccer Centre
• Spar at Ashgrove Road
• Kings Links Golf Centre

Following extensive investigations led by CID officers, the teenager was arrested yesterday in connection with these incidents and he will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit given his age.

DC Kayleigh McLean said: “I would like to thank each person who got in touch following our earlier appeal for information – your help has been appreciated.

“Our enquiries are continuing into these incidents and I would ask anyone who has information but not already contacted Police to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous.”
