A BURGER bar chain is to commit all of its profits to Scottish charities.
Scottish philanthropist and entrepreneur Garreth Wood, who owns The Boozy Cow in Aberdeen, made the announcement.
Owner of Speratus Group, Mr Wood, pictured, recently opened a Boozy Cow in Edinburgh after the success of the first one in the Granite City.
Mr Wood is also looking to open new Boozy Cows in three units in either Dundee, Perth, St Andrews, Glasgow or Inverness by the end of 2017. The move would create a total of 150 new jobs.
Mr Wood said he is confident that, once fully operational, the combined donations to charity on an annual basis will be more than £1 million.
The first beneficiaries from the profits of the Boozy Cows in Aberdeen and Edinburgh will be CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland) in Edinburgh, the ARCHIE Foundation, Grampian and the Northern Isles and Tayside, VSA – Aberdeen’s major social care charity – and the STV Children’s Appeal.
