Peterhead midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski today said they will continue to kick on for the rest of the season, even if they clinch a play-off place tomorrow.
The Blue Toon can effectively seal a place in the play-offs, and a chance to win promotion to the Championship, if they beat Airdrie this weekend.
Jim McInally’s side currently sit 18 points clear of fifth-placed Airdrie and victory at Balmoor would put them out of reach of the Diamonds.
Sixth-placed Albion Rovers would theoretically still be able to draw level on points with Peterhead if they win at Brechin City tomorrow, but the Blue Toon enjoy a near insurmountable +42 better goal difference than them.
“It would be a great achievement for the club,” said American midfielder Dzierzawski.
“But from a players perspective the job is not done yet, even if we do win on Saturday, as we want to be as high up the table as possible.
“The last thing we would want is to take our foot off the gas and Dunfermline slip up and it is a story of what if.
“It would be great if we can get a win and clinch a play-off spot on Saturday, but by no means is the job done.”
The Pars currently sit 10 points clear of Peterhead at the top of League One.
