A fire at a former North-east hotel is being treated as suspicious.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the deliberate blaze at the former Station Hotel building on Fraserburgh’s Seaforth Street.
It happened at about 9pm last night.
Detective Sergeant George Nixon, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would urge anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible.
“Thankfully no one was hurt and everyone in the building accounted for, however it goes without saying that the consequences of such reckless behaviour could have had fatal consequences.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers if you would prefer to remain anonymous on 0800 555111.”
