Bikers are set to visit the north-east next month, to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Widows Sons Scotland will travel to three north-east locations to raise funds for Poppyscotland.

The motorcycle group will visit Turriff, Ellon and Aberdeen on September 2, with each stop including a family fun event.

It will visit Turriff at 11am until noon, Ellon from 1-2pm and Aberdeen from 3-4pm.

Gordon Michie, head of fundraising at Poppyscotland, said: “This sum of money could help fund a specialised employment service so that disabled veterans can get support to find suitable, sustainable employment, or allow us to undertake major home adaptations.”
