Staff at Haddo House and Country Park are seeking the owner of a swan in their care.
The bird, who they have named Ruby, appeared at the Aberdeenshire National Trust property last week.
Staff noticed how tame she was and suspected she was hand-reared.
They contacted the North East Wildlife and Animal Rescue Centre for a medical check, at which point it was discovered the swan was underweight and suffering from an infection.
An appeal for information has been posted on Haddo’s Facebook’s page.
It read: “We have decided to remove Ruby from Haddo for the time being and are starting the search for her owners.
“She must have a family who love her as she’s the most tame swan we and the vet have ever come across.”
