An extension bridge has been proposed to create a new link to Union Street.
Property firm Rockspring has lodged a planning application to create the extension at 81 to 85 Union Street to link up with East Green at a first floor level.
The plans are the latest in a series of applications submitted by the firm to revamp the Aberdeen Indoor Market and former BHS building as a modern retail space.
The developers said the redevelopment of the market will see an “underutilised, unloved building” revitalised into a “vibrant retail space”.
New shopfronts will also be introduced on to The Green and Market Street with the intention of providing better pedestrian access.
The plans indicate that the development could include bar and restaurant uses in addition to retail.
Earlier this year the city council pulled out of a planned joint residential development at the site, claiming it was not “financially viable”.
