Bands to battle it out at Aberdeen pub in bid to clinch £2,000

Bands will be on stage from 8pm until 11pm, at Krakatoa, on Trinity Quay.

The final stage of a battle of the bands competition is set to take place in Aberdeen next week.

Eruption 2017/18, a competition run in collaboration with Captain Tom’s, Kenny’s Music Aberdeen and Krakatoa, will gather next Friday, with an overall winner being chosen to benefit from a £2,000 prize fund.

The competition was launched in 2016 to stimulate interest in grassroots music in the North-east.

Gypsy Roots, Casper Heyzeus, Killer Clyde and Deadloss Superstar will go head to head in the grand final with the hope of securing the highest score out of their rivals.

Points are awarded for material, performance, technical ability, audience engagement and professionalism, with a possible score of 50.

Bands will be on stage from 8pm until 11pm, at Krakatoa, on Trinity Quay.

The running order will be determined on the night.

Tickets for the event cost £5, or £4 for students, and can be purchased on the door.
