Something wicked this way comes as River City star Juliet Cadzow heads for His Majesty’s panto.
The Scots actress will play the Wicked Queen in Snow White this Christmas, joining Holby City star Lee Mead, who will play the Prince.
Juliet, who also played Edie McCredie in the CBBC children’s series Balamory is a seasoned veteran of Scotland’s pantomime scene.
She has worked extensively with panto icons such as Stanley Baxter, Jimmy Logan, Rikki Fulton and Elaine C Smith.
Now Juliet, who plays Suzie Fraser in River City, will be joining Aberdeen’s own panto legends Alan McHugh and Jordan Young in Snow White from December 1.
Jane Spiers, Aberdeen Performing Arts chief executive, said: “Juliet’s impressive career speaks for itself and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her to HMT for this year’s panto.
“I can’t wait to see what her and the rest of the cast have got in store for us.”
Jane’s enthusiasm was shared by Michael Harrison, managing director of the panto’s producer, Qdos Entertainment.
“We are delighted to have Juliet with us in our Aberdeen pantomime this Christmas,” he said.
“Juliet is a much-loved Scottish talent and we know she’s going to be wonderfully evil in her role as the Wicked Queen.”
Snow White is written by McHugh – who will play the dame, Nurse Nellie MacDuff – and will mark his 14th HMT pantomime.
The festive treat will feature a magical mirror, seven friendly dwarfs, a beautiful princess and a handsome prince.
It promises plenty of participation as audiences help our heroes outwit the Wicked Queen and let love prevail in this magical show.
Tickets for Snow White are on sale now.
