A north-east council has made a renewed commitment to ensure that progress is made on the plans for a £71 million community campus.
Work has been going on for several months with the Peterhead project being incorporated into the capital plan.
A number of capital plans are also in place for other ventures, such as health and social care and housing and community facilities/well-being.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Buchan area committee chairman Councillor Norman Smith said: “I would like to reassure residents in Peterhead that, although the 2023 in our capital plan appears far off, we are working quickly and purposefully to ensure that this fantastic state-of-the-art community campus is built as soon as possible so that people in this town will see the benefits.”
Discussions for where the site will be placed are ongoing.
However, there are calls for the campus to be constructed on the Kinmundy Road building site alongside the sports, community and cultural facilities at the current academy.
