Police Scotland are today appealing for witnesses after hundreds of straw bales went on fire.
Around 400 bales caught fire on Mill of Burns Farm, Fyvie on Monday.
Police Scotland are following a positive line of inquiry but are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
Constable Ryan Rice, of Turriff police office, said: “This fire has destroyed a large number of straw bales, which are of considerable value to the farmer, and spread to a nearby telephone pole and boundary fence.
“We are currently following a positive line of enquiry as to who may be responsible but I would urge anyone that has any information regarding the fire, who saw the blaze or anyone in the vicinity at the time to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
