A leading animal charity is appealing for information after a guinea pig was found abandoned in a shoebox last week.
The Scottish SPCA was alerted on Saturday by a member of the public who was out walking their dog near Grandholm Crescent, Bridge of Don, where they spotted the guinea pig.
Named Mr Hogg by staff, he is now in the care of the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Aberdeen.
Claire Tyczynska, centre assistant manager, said: “Mr Hogg was found abandoned in a shoebox without any bedding, food or water.
“We are appealing for any information or if anyone noticed any suspicious activity we urge you to get in touch with our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
