Police are appealing for information following a hit-and-run crash on a north-east road.
An incident was reported to Police Scotland at around 1.20pm on Tuesday, involving a silver Ford SMax (AF14 AFY).
The silver Ford had been travelling in the direction of Kemnay on the A96, when it was struck at the roundabout junction at Port Elphinstone and Kenmay by a small black hatchback type vehicle which failed to stop.
The black vehicle – which could have potentially been either a Golf or Corsa – had been travelling from the Huntly/Inverurie direction towards Kintore/Aberdeen.
PC Stuart Stronach, of the roads policing unit, said: “Thankfully no one was seriously hurt however the vehicle involved was badly damaged and I think it goes without saying that the outcome could have been much, much worse.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and either saw anything or has dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch.
“Footage of the surrounding area could also be extremely useful to our inquiries. We believe the black vehicle left at some speed towards the direction of Kintore/Aberdeen.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting ref. no. 1626 of September 25 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
