Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a North-east school was targeted by vandals.
A total of eight windows were smashed at Banchory Primary School on Arbeadie Road between 8am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.
Officers investigating the vandalism have called the incident “completely unacceptable”.
The damage is estimated to be around a low four-figure sum of money.
Pc Cameron Donald said: “This mindless vandalism will not only be costly to repair but will impact on the community. It is completely unacceptable and we are urging anyone with information or who saw anything unusual or suspicious over the weekend to get in touch with us on 101 using reference number CF0034210218.”
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman added: “Vandalism is not a victimless crime.
“It is disappointing council taxpayers’ money will now need to be spent on paying for the repairs that could instead be used to fund children’s education as well as other important council services.
“Anyone with any information about this crime is urged to contact the Police Scotland immediately.”
