Appeal after antique diamond ring handed in to police in Aberdeen

Police are appealing for a woman who contacted them after losing an antique diamond ring in Aberdeen to come forward.

The ring had been lost in the Denburn Carpark in October/November last year.

The antique has now been handed into the Queen Street police station and has been kept in the hope the woman who originally came forward looking for the ring gets back in touch. Police said she did not leave her details when she reported it missing.

Police are now publicly appealing for her, or anyone who might know someone who lost a ring matching the description to come forward.

Officers have said they will not be providing an image of the ring or a detailed description, to prevent false claims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
