Appeal after vehicle mounts pavement in Aberdeen and nearly hits group of youngsters

Police are appealing for information after a vehicle mounted the pavement and nearly hit a group of youngsters in Aberdeen.

The incident in Invercauld Road in Mastrick occurred yesterday evening.

A large silver 4×4 with tinted windows, possibly a BMW or Jeep, mounted the pavement near a group of youths and almost hit one.

The driver is described as a thin male, 30-40 years old with brown hair and a local accent.

Investigating Officer Pc James Whittall said "This incident occurred when Invercauld Road was busy with pedestrians and motorists and we are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle.

"I am appealing to anyone that may have witnessed this incident or seen a similar vehicle in the area to get in touch with the police.

"Also similarly, if the driver recognises themselves from this appeal I would ask that they get in touch with us.
