An animal welfare charity is calling on the public to rehome dogs currently in its care.
The Scottish SPCA is celebrating its annual Staffie Awareness Week from November 12-16 and hopes to find forever homes for its dogs.
North-east residents are asked to come along to the centre in Drumoak to meet the canines and learn more about them.
Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre manager Graeme Innes said: “We’re always looking to do more to raise awareness of the breed, which is often mischaracterised.
“Staffies are one of our most popular dogs and it’s clear to see why – they are friendly, loyal and affectionate dogs.”
One of the staffies resident at the Drumoak centre is Naomi. She arrived just over 140 days ago through no fault of her own.

Graeme added: “When Naomi came to us, she was a poor sight. However, as we’ve worked with her and gained her trust she’s transformed into a completely different dog.
“She’s now a bundle of energy and cuddles.
“As much as we love her, we’re desperate to find her the loving family she deserves.”
