Scottish Conservative councillor Alan Donnelly was today named Aberdeen’s Deputy Lord Provost.
At a city council urgent business meeting, he was voted in 7-6 to succeed fellow Conservative Tom Mason.
Mr Donnelly said: “It is with great pride that I accept the role of Deputy Lord Provost.
“I consider this a real honour to represent the city of Aberdeen in this role 25 years after first being elected as a councillor.
“It is a role that I will take very seriously and I look forward to working alongside the Lord Provost over the coming months and years.”
