A North-east rugby club is set to host its very first beer festival this weekend.
Aberdeenshire RFC will hold the first RugBeer Fest on Saturday from 2pm until 10pm at the Woodside Sports Complex, Aberdeen.
The event will feature 19 beers from North-east firms BrewDog, Fierce Beer, Brew Toon, Deeside Brewery and Six Degrees North, as well as prosecco and cider.
Aberdeenshire RFC secretary and player Michael MacLugash, who has been the driving force behind the festival, spoke about the importance of finding new ways to raise funds for the club.
He said: “Since the downturn in the oil industry it has understandably had a knock on effect on sponsorship for sports teams.
“That’s why we now need to look at new ways to raise funds for the club to ensure we can continue to provide the levels of training and on field success we have seen over the past few years.”
Tickets for the mini festival are £10 per person and are available from bit.ly/2tT0hYC
