Aberdeenshire Council would like to thank those who participated in the public consultation on the South Aberdeenshire Harbour Improvement Plan.
A statement from the local authority read: “There were more than 60 responses to the online consultation and we are grateful for the detailed feedback provided by all consultees.
“The council – in association with consultants Ironside Farrar – has developed a range of potential projects for the harbours at Stonehaven, Johnshaven and Gourdon and has encouraged the public to make comment to further shape these ideas.
“Our teams are now currently working through the comments to see how these align with the projects as proposed. We anticipate a report outlining findings will be published in November with an online presentation of findings.
“It is hoped that the Improvement Plan and projects will capture future external funding to improve the harbours and facilities, support the traditional fishing industry and other local businesses as well as growing areas such as tourism.”
