Aberdeenshire Council Elections: The Candidates

Today, our election coverage is turning to Aberdeenshire, one of the biggest councils in Scotland.

In the summer of 2015 the ruling Alliance coalition of Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Aligned Independents were ousted in an SNP and Labour-led coup.

Business rates rises and council tax have recently dominated debate in its council chamber, in a local authority which has long prided itself on removing party politics and working in the interests of the region.
