A woman has been jailed for kicking over a shop display and assaulting police after being caught stealing.
Lyn Stirling or Blain, 33, was jailed yesterday for the offences which happened on Tuesday.
She pled guilty to stealing groceries from Poundland on Union Street, to shouting, swearing and kicking over items on display and to kicking, attempting to spit at and making racist remarks to police.
Fiscal depute Anne MacDonald said the groceries, worth £11, were fully recovered after staff stopped her at the door and contacted police.
Defence agent Lynn Bentley said her client had “a number of addiction problems” and was “drunk when she went into the store”.
Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill sentenced Stirling, of Gillespie Crescent, Aberdeen, to eight months.
