New figures from an e-commerce giant shows that Aberdeen is topping the chart of independent published authors.
Amazon data has revealed that Aberdeen is placed number three on the list of top independent publishing hotspots in Scotland.
Glasgow came out first, with more authors per capita publishing their work via Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) programme than any other town or city in Scotland, closely followed by Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
The rankings were released to coincide with the news that the Amazon Academy for authors – a free event providing aspiring authors with advice and support – will be held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow on April 17.
Darren Hardy, manager of KDP UK, said they “hope to encourage both aspiring and established writers” who have used serviced like KDP.
