An Aberdeen teacher has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
John Naples-Campbell, principal teacher in expressive arts at Dyce Academy, is among six nominees in the Inspiration category for the Proud Scotland Awards on June 1.
In December he was recognised as one of the top 10 most influential people in Scottish education highlighting issues including the #MeToo movement in education.
He also helped drive through legislation which will see Scotland become the world’s first country in the world to have lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex inclusive education in the curriculum.
He said: “I have never seen myself as ‘inspirational’ and have always seen my job as a passion and a chance to help young people achieve their full potential.”
