Aberdeen street to shut during superfast broadband works

A section of an Aberdeen street is due to be closed to allow for high-speed web works.

The closures have been announced for various areas of Ferryhill, while work is carried out as part of the City Fibre project.

The initiative will bring superfast internet to the city.

As a result, Polmuir Road will be closed from 8am on May 15 to 5pm on May 17 between the junction of Riverside Drive and the entrance to the car park of 119-133 Polmuir Road.

Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be allowed.

A parking restriction will also be in effect on the same road between May 8 at 8am and June 1 at 5pm.

Cars parked on the street will be removed at the expense of the owner.

The parking restriction will be in place as and when required, and no-waiting cones will be put in place.

The closure will allow for what has been described by the firm as “duct laying work” to take place.
