A shoplifter grabbed a security guard’s genitals after being caught stealing whisky.

Christopher Chesser, 36, previously pled guilty to stealing alcohol from Marks & Spencer on St Nicholas Street and then assaulting the security guard on Netherkirkgate on January 25.

He also admitted stealing a jacket, wallet and mobile at Burger King on Union Street on May 27. Defence agent Tony Burgess said his client was “desperate” for alcohol and drugs and “regrets” the incident.

Sheriff Ian Wallace deferred sentence on Chesser, of Jute Street, Aberdeen, until March for reports.
