A bungling shop raider has had his sentence deferred until later this month.
Michael Rae, 43, fractured his skull when he was tackled by a member of the public as he attempted to flee with seven jars of coffee.
Rae also showed the shopkeeper a knife when he went in to Bridge Street News in Aberdeen city centre on Boxing Day last year.
He previously admitted assault and robbery charges.
Sentencing had been deferred for a Drug Treatment and Testing Order.
Rae, of Deansloch Terrace, Northfield, is expected to appear again on October 26.
