Aberdeen primary school reopens after power cut

An Aberdeen primary school which was forced to shut on the first day of term will reopen for the afternoon.

Charleston School was shut earlier this morning after a power cut affected thousands of properties in the Cove area.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) were alerted to a powercut in the AB12 area at 8.30am after a fault was detected, which left the school without power.

A spokesman for Aberdeen City Council confirmed that the power had been restored and the school would reopen at 1.15pm.
