Broad Street has closed as work started for this year’s Christmas Village.
Builders have cordoned off the street to start the preparations for the festive celebrations.
Upperkirkgate will be next to be closed, with work due to start on Friday, setting up the largest Christmas Village yet.
The attraction will open on November 22, lasting until New Year’s Day, closing just for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
For the first time, the Village will host a series of stalls occupied by local retailers, a Santa’s Grotto and a Santa Express train.
The Granite City Christmas switch on is due to take place on November 25, starting with a Santa’s fun run down Union Street.
