AN ABERDEEN restaurant boss’ cutting response to a diner who complained about a friend being injured by broken glass has gone viral.
The customer took to reviews website Trip Advisor to complain about the alleged incident at Café 52, claiming her colleague was injured when the waitress dropped a glass.
Grading the popular restaurant just one-out-of-five, the reviewer “injured2015″ said no antiseptic wipes were made available and “a plaster requested was taken away from the table before it could be used”.
However the review didn’t sit very well with the restaurant’s owner, who soon penned a withering response saying “I was waiting for this remarkably creative piece of writing” and describing the reviewer as having “a twisted sense of reality”.
Wishing to “clarify the actual situation for the curious readers” Café 52’s owner said the injury was actually a half-inch scratch and went on to claim the diner was drunk on “vino” and one of the party “started feeling my backside”.
Listing six points where his recollection of events differed from the customer’s, he wrote: “Your colleague was tended to immediately and a drum of antiseptic wipes (contents 200) were put on the table and several wipes (better safe than sorry!) were used to treat the wound. Thereafter a clean dry towel with crushed ice was put round the leg of the alleged victim (Just in case the leg swelled up to the size of Saturn, resulting in a lunar explosion).”
Regarding the plaster claim, the owner wrote: “The alleged victim was offered a choice of plasters, however we were out of ‘Does this plaster match my outfit’ variety so it was either skin coloured plasters or those bright blue ones. The skin tone plasters seemed to do the job.”
The owner said rather than being in discomfort, as the reviewer had claimed, the party’s “collective faces were smiling from ear to ear”.
In his final point he noted: “I revisited your table about 15 minutes before you were going to leave and the vino had made it’s bed in your head. At which point you started feeling my back side. And that is how it went.”
