Young people in Aberdeen have been recognised for their volunteer work.

ACVO – which represents Aberdeen’s volunteer organisations – attended Harlaw Academy with Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart to learn more about the achievements of pupils.

This included CPR training, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Saltire Awards and community support.

Pupils were congratulated for their success and achievements, including Rebecca Cuthbert, who was presented with a 500 hour Saltire Ascent Award by Mr Stewart on behalf of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

He said: “Many thanks to everyone who helped put this together.

“It’s great to see so many young people across our city getting involved with the award.

“I am very impressed by the school’s talented, young people and their endeavours.”
