An Aberdeen pub wants to stay open until 5am on a Monday – so drinkers can enjoy a highlight of the sporting calendar on TV.
Owners of Bridge Street Social Club are planning to screen the Super Bowl, which begins late on February 4 and continues into the following morning.
Licencees have asked Aberdeen City Council for permission to stay open for longer.
Police Scotland has not objected to the application – but a licensing standards officer told the council she “cannot support the application”.
The board will make a decision at a meeting at 10.30am on Wednesday.
