A man who attempted to rape a girl has been locked up for two years.
Kyle Park, 18, of Danestone Circle, Aberdeen, had been socialising with the victim on August 21 last year when the pair ended up back at Park’s home.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday how the victim had voluntarily gone up the stairs, entered his room and lay on a bed – but she did not want things to go further.
However, Park, who turned 17 the day after the incident, tried to kiss the girl, who was 15 at the time. Park went on to commit a number of sexual acts while the girl protested.
He admitted assault and attempted rape to the court, in that he seized hold of her body in an attempt to prevent her from leaving.
Sheriff Brown said: “This is an extremely serious sexual offence.”
Park will be on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
