An Aberdeen man has been jailed after he admitted punching a female beggar on Union Street.
Conor Bardrick, 30, assaulted the woman on August 23.
Fiscal depute Kelly Mitchell said Bardrick and another female approached the woman and “began shouting about a debt”.
Ms Mitchell added the victim stated she had no money at which point the female grabbed her mobile phone.
When she tried to grab it back Bardrick “punched the complainer on the head”.
Bardrick pled guilty to the assault.
Sheriff Margaret Hodge sentenced Bardrick, of Pennan Road, Aberdeen, to three months in prison.
