An Aberdeen man who poured beer over a female police officer has been jailed.
Steven McCulloch, 39, previously admitted assaulting the officer by pouring the drink over her and attempting to strike her on the body.
He also admitted spitting at another officer and shouting, swearing, threatening violence and making an offensive remark.
Fiscal depute Lixia Sun said police were called to an incident at South College Street, Aberdeen, around 1.15pm on November 11 and saw McCulloch “stumbling” away from them.
When police approached him he produced and opened a can of beer which he poured over an officer who tried to take it from him.
David Sutherland, McCulloch’s solicitor, said his client hoped to engage with support services to address his drinking.
Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill jailed McCulloch, whose address was given in papers at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as Walker Road, Aberdeen, for six months.
