
A man “blinded by the sun” crashed into a cyclist on an Aberdeen road.
Ronald Anderson, 66, admitted a charge of careless driving on Stoneywood Road at its junction with Waterton Road in the city on May 28.
The cyclist sustained severe injuries and his bike was damaged.

Anderson’s vehicle was approaching the same junction as the cyclist and “drove directly into the path of the cyclist” crashing into him.
As a result the man sustained injuries including fractured ribs and a broken shoulder.
Fiscal depute Felicity Merson said when Anderson was asked about the circumstances he indicated “he did not see the complainer on his bike due to being blinded by the sun”.
Anderson, whose address was given in court papers as Slains Circle, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, was handed four penalty points and fined £500.
