Bookworms have been set a literary health challenge by Aberdeen libraries in an unusual competition.
The Six Minute Reading Challenge kicks off on World Book Night – Monday April 23 – and runs until the end of May.
The library service is challenging people to take part by reading for a minimum of six minutes every day during that period.
Participants can choose to send in evidence at the end or interact with the libraries on social media throughout the challenge to receive a certificate and be entered into a prize draw.
Education convener John Wheeler said: “It’s not just about reading books as participants can read whatever they like.”
