IKEA today revealed 30 jobs will be created when its new Aberdeen store opens in spring next year.
Landlords Cyan Properties previously said it was hoped IKEA would open in time for Christmas after plans for the Makro site in Nigg were approved last month.
But IKEA today confirmed it will open its store between March and May next year.
The new order and collection point will act primarily as a studio to plan and order more complex purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas,
IKEA Aberdeen will also feature the much-loved IKEA room sets providing inspiration and ideas for the home, and expert co-workers offering home furnishing knowledge and advice. And it’s expected that 30 new jobs will be created.
IKEA Aberdeen will not carry the full product range to take home but customers will be able to order from the full range for home delivery or for collection at the collection point.
A speciality café will also be created.
The remainder of the site will include a downsized Makro and a smaller supermarket.
