A group of north-east consultants are to take on a cycle challenge to raise funds for charity.

The group of four consultants from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) will cycle more than 300 miles from London to Paris this week over a period of four days.

Dubbed Wifies On Wheels, they will be raising money for CLAN Cancer Support and Team Jak Foundation’s Jak’s Den.

Originally setting a target of £2,000, the group has already raised more than £7,300 – 300% of their challenge.

A statement from the group said: “We have chosen our two charities for the enormous support they provide to patients and families, young and old, who are fighting the battle that is cancer.”

The challenge will run from tomorrow until Sunday.
