Aberdeen homes left without electricity after tree falls on power line

A tree has hit a power line leaving 160 North-east homes without power.

The properties in the AB15 area are without electricity after a tree fell on North Deeside Road at 11.30am this morning.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network said: “We have 160 homes in Bieldside without power after a tree fell on the power line.

“We have engineers on the site who are doing everything they can. It is hoped that power will be restored by 2pm.

“We are sorry to all customers who are currently without power.”

An Aberdeen City Council spokesperson said: “Officers have been called to clear a fallen tree on North Deeside Road, which was causing an obstruction.

“We have been monitoring the forecasts and are prepared to respond as required.”
