A FASHION graduate has been named a finalist in an international design competition.
Ashley Shepherd, of Aberdeen, fought off worldwide competitors to reach the finals in the Liberate Your Style contest.
Finalists are tasked with designing an innovative garment, which reflects what style means to them.
They also had to create an online mood board outlining their concept.
Now in its sixth year, the competition is run by The Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford and Marks and Spencer.
Ashley, who works as a garment technologist, took inspiration for her design from Japanese origami art.
The 25-year-old blended feminine silhouettes with constructive, geometric elements.
The winner will be crowned The Liberty Fashion Designer 2015. They will receive a £1,000 prize, a trophy and expert business advice from Marks and Spencer.
There will also be a public vote for the “People’s Choice Award” – the winner of which will receive a pair of gold tickets to London Fashion Week in September.
