An Aberdeen golf course is set to close to the public next week.
Sport Aberdeen is shutting the MacKenzie Championship Course at Hazlehead so it can undertake “significant investment”.
The facility is the only public championship course in the north-east.
Sport Aberdeen, which manages the course for Aberdeen City Council, is looking to address underlying drainage and water logging issues.
The improvement works will start on Monday and last for 10 weeks.
There will be no public access to the course until the beginning of the new golf season in April 2019. This will allow ground repairs and fine turf management to be fully effective.
Colin Taylor, chairman of Sport Aberdeen, said: “We fully appreciate the inconvenience this work will cause, but it is important that we protect the investment we are making and allow the ground in the affected areas to recover.”
