Council housing rents will increase by 4.3% from April 29, after proposals were approved by councillors.
Jenny Laing, Aberdeen City Council co-leader, said the increase was “reasonable”, adding it took into account the “pressures” residents are facing.
She said: “What that income and the management of the housing revenue account capital programme allows us to do is to continue to invest in housing stock with the care and attention our tenants quite rightly expect.”

Meanwhile, councillors also approved plans to progress and conclude the buy-back of ex-council houses.
A sum of £15 million has been set aside to fund any suitable purchases that meet the requirements.
