An Aberdeen charity supporting people affected by alcohol misuse has announced two new appointments.
Aberdeen-based charity DrinkLink has appointed Graeme Wood as secretary and Jenny Stables as treasurer.
DrinkLink launched in 2012 with the aim to promote supportive information and services to people affected by alcohol misuse among family, friends and workplaces.
Graeme Wood, business optimisation director with Bibby Offshore, joined the charity with a view to assist the cause as a non-executive director.
Speaking of the appointment, he said: “I am in a position where I have the time to put something back into the local community and after hearing more about the charity and what it is trying to achieve decided to offer my support.
“We have a great team committed to a very worthy cause and I am proud to be able to contribute.”
Board member Jenny Stables has been appointed as treasurer for the charity.
She said: “As a board member, transparency and absolute security in our finances is naturally incredibly important to me.
“It means a lot to our investors and our suppliers to have a modern, robust financial infrastructure and I am excited to come up with solutions that prepare the charity to scale up as we go from strength to strength.”
The charity itself is appealing to the local business community as they look to appoint an HR advisor and a head of corporate communications at board level.
It is asking anyone interested to get in touch.
